🇯🇵 Japanese energy corporation tests BTC mining using solar energy

Tepco Electric Power Corporation is testing the use of EXCESS solar energy to operate Bitcoin miners.

Currently, the company has installed excavators in Gunma and Tochigi provinces to take advantage of this natural energy source.

If renewable energy accounted for 50% of electricity, Japan could waste up to 240,000 gigawatt hours a year.

Estimates show that using just 10% of this surplus electricity to mine Bitcoin, could generate about 360 billion yen ($2.5 billion) per year.
