The Vuelta 🇪🇸 2024 has come to an end, after a final TT stage through the streets of my home town, Madrid, with the victory of Stefan Küng 🇨🇭 , his first victory in a Grand Tour and which will most likely give him an extra boost of confidence ahead of the upcoming World Championships in his home country. The podium remained unchanged on the final day as follows: 🥇 Primož Roglič 🇸🇮 🥈 Ben O'Connor 🇦🇺 🥉 Enric Mas 🇪🇸 It has been a very exciting edition and proof of this is that until yesterday's stage the top 10 including the final winner was in suspense, also the classification of the young riders or the grand prix of the mountain.

I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things, but I'm just highlighting some of them: the performances of Marc Soler, rider with the most kilometres on a breakaway in the last three weeks; Wout van Aert in his first visit to La Vuelta, despite his nasty crash that forced him to abandon the race; Ben O'Connor's feat, who kept the GC in check until almost the end; Kern Pharma team, a young Pro Tour team that has been present and being a protagonist over World Tour teams; the tributes to Robert Gesink or Thomas de Gendt on his last days as pro cyclists; the return of Jay Vine after his serious crash and injuries months ago in the Tour of the Basque Country, who has even won the mountain grand prix of La Vuelta this year; and above all Primož Roglič's victory in his fourth Vuelta, most complete cyclist! and next year he has already said he will try to win his fifth. Last remark 🤓, this year all the Grand Tour victories have gone to Slovenia 💪 Next stop is Grand Prix Cycliste weekend in Canada!
