These days are long. I’m a medical student, third year, on my last rotation: surgery. I’m typically here from 5 AM to 5 PM (if not a longer day). I respect more and more what surgeons do every day. However, it’s sometimes hard to stomach some of the worst symptoms of a broken medical training system.

I feel very privileged to be part of this career. I operate through this system grounded in my ethos of love. I love taking care of people, seeing them get better, being a listening ear. And I honestly feel horrible every time I have to wake a patient up before 6 AM every day.
