Surprisingly, the current Pectra launch was less anticipated than the Shanghai Ethereum Upgrade.

In an effort to resolve persistent issues with the Ethereum network, the Shanghai Upgrade pledged to implement significant improvements in efficiency and scalability. And to some extent, it did. 

Pectra seems to be missing that kind of zeal and transformative force in contrast. To me, this indicates how upgrades and improvements are seen in the space and how it affects what the community expects.
