Token gating makes so much sense. It's an 'anti-cheat' for your community. Increasing the barrier to entry - ever so slightly - makes life exponentially better for those that meet the barrier.

I build web2 infra; web3 curious. Tech, film, travel, writing. 

Lots of products fail because they don't filter out - easy to no barrier for entry. And struggle filtering in later because those that should have been filtered out add noise and make life difficult for everyone else. 

Such a simple yet novel concept.

Come to think of it - communities should focus on "filtering out" - focus on keeping bad actors away - first. Then allow natural selection to take care of the "filtering in" - help good actors stay and grow.
