I founded a “better for you” consumer social platform that organically grew to 90k users and then…we couldn’t raise. I love sharing the lessons I’ve learned as a result: Lesson #1 you can have the right idea, but if you have the wrong team (that includes you, founder), it’s never going to work.

My co-founder (who I love) & I had really overlapping previous experiences, both of us were non-technical. We had a great team of 3 engineers, our CTO in hindsight should have been a co-founder. As a result, we spent a lot of money on talent to just build the MVP instead of looking for other ways to validate our hypothesis.
