The cover of The New Yorker magazine dated December 21, 1968, shows three magi sailing on a boat and holding gifts. Usually the Magi are traditionally depicted riding camels, this cover shows them on a boat, as if they took a “water route” to Bethlehem. You can imagine that they thought, “Why not try something new this year?”
