one can’t outsource growth at the beginning of a product life cycle. think about it, if the “growth” person hired does it better than the founders, they can start their own company and do even better with way higher incentives.

im coming to learn this the hard way as the "growth person" in context founders shitposting will probably build way better distribution than me running growth experiments will... in v early stages at least. a realization that hurts because it means i'll have to reconsider working with early-stage founders altogether.
