We’re pleased to announce a $1.5m pre-seed round. Vaporware is bringing to market a new class of VM called a solid-state interpreter (SSI). SSIs enable usable personal cloud computers for the first time and create new models for software distribution.

Vaporware’s architecture is based on the Plunder virtual machine and PLAN evaluation model. Plunder inherits its name from the Lisp ecosystem (Scheme, Racket), and bears some important similarities: - Homoiconicity - An ultra-minimal data model - Support for macros and dynamic code generation

Plunder is purely functional and provides orthogonal persistence as a system feature. We call our VMs ships because they’re designed to be owned and piloted by a single user.

Each ship has a unique name registered onchain and can perform actions for its owner: building and signing transactions, storing data, serving dApps, and more. Developers can deploy an app to their own ship, register it onchain, and immediately sell to a global audience with no app store fees.

In the coming months, we’ll be opening the network to select developers and partners. We’re experimenting like crazy with @farcaster and are excited about bringing a powerful co-processor to the ecosystem.
