it's a relatively small buffer in stables. this is not meant to operate as a hedge.

many proposers have budget/costs in USD, so their current flow is to request _more_ ETH than they require as a volatility buffer, do their swap, and maybe send extra ETH back. far more treasury loss there.

Yup, well aware. I remember when we were larping as eth maxis and didn't want to diversify into stables. I'm of the opinion that the bear market has caused us to largely lose the plot and I'm not particularly happy about it.
