I’m glad EF doesn’t operate like a company. The steady ship is reliable for L2s. ETH thrives on open collaboration, not corporate agendas. May the best ideas for maximising the common good win.

Does anyone else prefer the Reddit model of social to the Twitter model? Where it’s more about the topics and quality of post than the person who posts it?

The most likely path to “success” in many of our institutions and industries is through acting in bad faith. Ethereum is not one of those.

A fun little known history about MTGox: Many of you are aware that it was originally intended to be a Magic: The Gathering online exchange. HOWEVER, this seemingly unrelated backstory actually illuminates one of the earliest use-cases for crypto: In the 2000s, we didn’t have a way to play “Magic” online, so open source devs put together p2p software that allowed us connect anonymously on IRC servers and organize bootleg magic tournaments (There wasn’t going to be a legit way to play magic online for another decade). We needed a way to collect and distribute tournament entry fees and prize money. In the first tournaments I played in, we LITERALLY had to send cash in the mail to tournament organizers. Since we were scattered all around the world, Bitcoin was the perfect solution. The original MTGox founders were part of our little community and were orange-pilled by a very real and fantastic use case. As far as I know, it never really was a functioning MtG exchange, though.
Good times!

Now that the presidential debates have kicked off, it’s a good time to dig out Lawrence Lessig. Also highly recommend his 2004 book “Free Culture”. https://youtu.be/PJy8vTu66tE?si=O8ol40sx5TaRPbUe

Anyone seen the HAL 9000 fanedit of the prequels? Really made me appreciate these films in a new light. Also, John Williams.

Volatile price discovery (speculation) is an endogenous property of newly emerging forms of property and technology. We don’t need to be afraid if the casinos dominate for now. In the short run, the market is a voting machine but in the long run, it is a weighing machine. - B. Graham

Just been trying (unsuccessfully) to get some tokens off of a defunct chain from the 2021-era. A brutal reminder that many promising bull-market projects won’t be around in 2 years.

Eth ETF approval by end-May has dropped to a low of 27%. Am I missing something? Isn’t the SEC going to get sued into oblivion if they don’t approve it?

Help me understand why @rocketpool isn’t going to just take over @lidofinance in the long run as the dominant liquid staking provider?
