It's a grand strategy game that takes place during the victorian era (more precisely, 1836-1936). You get to pick a country in that time period and you need industrialize, manage political movements and interest groups as well as relationships with other countries. I like this game because there are a ton of underdog countries that start off in a bad spot, that can be made into powerhouses that can even surpass the British empire at its peak. It's also has historical events, like the american civil war, the unification of Italy and Romania, the great game in central asia, the scramble for Africa, etc. and you get to play them.
