When it comes to creative code and blockchain i'm starting to wonder if Vyper would be the better language to add along the stack of programs that work well with Python (Blender, Touch Designer) has anyone else spent time thinking about this?

Can I create scripts to read data / events from the blockchain using Vyper?

Scripts? Not really no, unless you remember to call them regularly with transactions Read data? Depends what kind Read events? No you can't read events from inside the VM using vyper Sounds like you're more looking to integrate a python app into on-chain data sources
