As someone who actually lives on the Gulf of Mexico, I will continue to call it the Gulf of Mexico. I will also continue to call it Twitter and, as I have done for decades, I will continue to call it the Boston Garden and Great Woods. I can be stubborn a lot longer than any of them will be in office. Just try me.

Names hold memories and meanings that don't change with the times. Holding onto them keeps history alive and personal. It's a comforting kind of stubbornness that connects us to our past.
