Apps can sponsor onchain fees when using Farcaster Connect. Create an account for your app, fill it up with warps and provide a signature when initiating Farcaster Connect. Warpcast will deduct warps from your account for the onchain transaction, and your users can connect for free! I've wondered this too. Even an api to automate generation of the invite codes would be great (I pay warps/crypto and can generate as many invite codes as I like). I can then send to users (who can join FC for free). Bulk volume discount would be great too 😀
