Sooooo yesterday I learned that deleted casts are never deleted bc they are stored onchain 

I found that to be a jarring discovery as a user bc @dwr.eth indicated with the storage situation that casts are meant to be zeitgeist-ish, impermanent

Also DCs are auto-deleted so that gave the impression of impermanence

they aren't stored onchain. 

they are stored on hubs, which will delete them if you either press delete or stop paying for storage.

all hubs conform to the same rules or they get kicked off the network. so if you delete it once it deletes everywhere. 

however, it is a *public* social network. if you post something on twitter or your personal website, anyone has the freedom to screenshot it or archive the webpage. same thing here.

So..the issue is that there are gonna be tons and tons of hubs right, and anyone can spin up a hub

So all the casts go everywhere technically and it wouldn’t be reasonable for a user to chase them all down and GDPR them all? @keccers.eth
