Why limit length of per cast; also CJK counter is wrong (compare to Twitter)

UTF8 problem for CJK: @dwr.eth @v cast <=320bytes (in utf8) length limitation is not making sense for CJK(Chinese Japanese Korean) since it’s only 106 cjk characters, even less than normal tweets (140 cjk chars) making more sense to have 1cjk = 2bytes which is social network standard behavior.

Seems it’s a Farcaster protocol level thing. Hub and other clients are under influence 

Yes, there is a 320 byte limit at the hub level.

I think it’s a good suggestion, open to an FIP on how to implement

Byte count is a wrong design for CJK lang especially if you’re building social network. there were a debate back in days between Twitter Tokyo office and Jack Dorsey; Jack adapted the correct way and now Jp is no2 user group of Twitter (if you count Korean and Chinese it’s > USA)
