No, if anything the network would perform a lot better if there were fewer hubs

Out of the 650 hubs, I would guess less than 10% are actually used to retrieve data. 

If the other 90% disappeared, most of these issues would disappear. 

The more hubs you have , the harder is becomes to ensure they are all up to date.

Fewer, under the assumption that they’re higher performing and distributed appropriately geographically?
