you know what was happening before 1973? nuclear power development, the airline industry taking off, global trade booming, the space race pushing boundaries, the interstate highway system being built, and rapid advancements in manufacturing and technology.

if we want to get back to that trendline, we better continue building bigger, faster, more connected things and a lot more power generation. shuffling the economic deck isn't going to make it bigger, adding to the deck makes it bigger.
