Ethereum core developers have announced the launch of EIP-7732, which is the official specification for EnshrinedProposal Builder Separation (ePBS). EIP-7732 is an upgrade to the consensus layer only, which separates execution verification from consensus verification and directly embeds PBS into the consensus layer of Ethereum. PBS refers to the separation of block proposers and builders. EIP-7732 includes modifications to beacon chains, fork selection rules, P2P communication, and allows validators to play the role of builders. The builder is a complex participant in building blocks to extract MEVs. EPBS provides trust free exchange between proposers and builders, and enables validators to effectively utilize CPU. This implementation plan has a Payload Timeliness Committee (PTC), where a subset of the validation committee votes on the timeliness of the builder's payload release.
