A while back I asked for recs for a dishwasher safe, nonstick pan; and @dwr.eth was like, β€œNonstick pans are easy af to wash by hand you lazy piece of shit” I think about that every time I’m about to put my dishwasher safe, nonstick pan in the dishwasher; and then I wash it by hand

The dishwasher detergent is going to ruin the non stick coating faster than hand wash. But I get you I use carbon steel for my non stick Then I have stainless steel for the dishwasher I just deglaze whatever I cook to clean it before dishwash

Man, I gotta learn to cook better. I have a pretty nice steel cookware set cause I have an induction oven, and I know I could be putting it to better use

You can make stainless steel non stick (not as good as nonstick pan or season cast iron/carbon steel). And I DID try this successfully https://youtu.be/z9M8GFfRdBo "Deglaze" is a fancy word for (if I don't make a gravy or sauce) I just pour boiling water in the stainless steel pan and scrap off the gunk. However when you cook some meat, it's worth sauteing a diced shallot, then add better than boullion, hot water, a little butter, then add a bit of cornstarch/flour and make a gravy Make gravy great again πŸ˜‹
