My /hottakes is that your MVP should have little to no custom CSS. Grab a UI library off the shelf and build.

For me, the benefit is less about writing CSS and more about needing to think about custom design and saving time building custom components in the beginning. Not saying anything about styling systems specifically, btw, just my suggestion for MVPs.

If you like your workflow, though, thats awesome, keep doing that.

Sometimes design is apart of the brand story and marketing. Especially consumer apps.

yes either use a framework or do as little css as possible are both approaches i like
