i didn’t read the three body problem but i can’t imagine the disappointment if you did and then had to sit through the cringy soap opera acting

Hmm. Wondering if I should stop watching 3 body problem and read the books? The concepts/ideas in the show are really fascinating and I imagine they are explored more deeply in print. 

But how is the writing (or rather, translation)? Worth it or no?

I did find both of them a bit slow to get into.  That aside, I found them thought provoking and entertaining. Engaging with big topics like game theory of civilizations across the galaxy, morality, technology. 

Second half’s of both books I couldn’t put down, lots of surprises and curveballs.
