I think the next big breakthrough for AGI will likely involve advanced learning algorithms, causal reasoning, and continual learning, allowing AI to think and adapt like humans. Integrating quantum computing and ethical reasoning will also be crucial. Predictions on when AGI will arrive vary from a few decades to over a century.
