BAKUNAWA AND THE LAST MOON

Bakunawa is a serpent-like dragon from Philippine Mythology. It is believed to be the cause of eclipses, earthquakes, rains, and wind. In ancient times, the earth was believed to have 7 bright moons. Bakunawa was so mesmerized by them that it would rise from the sea and swallow them whole until there was only one moon left in the sky. Bathala was angered and decided to remove Bakunawa's wings to forbid it from devouring the last moon. But it is believed that Bakunawa would sometimes grow back its wings and try to eat the last moon again. So the people from ancient times would make loud noice using metal things to shoo Bakunawa away from the last moon.

In war, the greatest weapon is not the blade but the mind that wields it.
