Trump "requires legal framework and safety measures for virtual asset business"

Former U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said on the 16th (local time) that a legal framework and safeguards for the virtual asset (crypto) business are needed. Former President Trump expressed this view in an online conversation held around the launch of his two sons, Donald Jr. and Eric's virtual asset platform "World Liberty Financial."

When asked by the host if he thought the legal framework for enabling virtual asset companies to thrive and survive was important to the United States, he replied, "Yes, we should have certain safeguards."

Former President Trump said the virtual asset industry "cannot be completely laissez-faire," adding, "I've talked to some virtual asset tycoons, and they also want certain safeguards."
