the 1st message sent between two computers came 4 years prior, in 1969, from Leonard Kleinrock, a UCLA prof, who setup a system to transmit messages to another programmer at Stanford Research Institute. They attempted to type "LOGIN" and the system crashed part way through. the first message ever sent was "LO"
