Modular Artist Spotlight #5

This week’s spotlight goes to Lady Starlight. She has carved her own path in the underground electronic music scene, earning respect for her raw, analog-driven sound. Lady Starlight’s performances often feature live modular synthesizer setups, emphasizing improvisation and a stripped-down, purist approach to techno.

Interestingly, she is a friend of Lady Gaga and even performed as her opening act for several shows (as a duo with Surgeon). I can only imagine the audience’s reaction when they came expecting a (relatively) commercial artist and were met with this raw, powerful techno as the opening act.

I had the privilege of seeing her perform at Superbooth 2024, and her energy was absolutely contagious—it was a magnificent show.
