I love childlike hubris at any age. Magic comes from people doing things they are told cannot be done. Huge fan of hubris fueled dreamers and underdogs 

There is another kind of hubris I see that stems from extraordinary success, money and power. I always wonder what # of one’s net worth triggers the brain rot kind of hubris. The kind that would throw humanity under the bus to attain more and more

When you are just starting out -- there are a lot more people who say "no" when they should be saying "yes" to your ideas. Essentially you are underestimated (and sometimes rightly so, because see naive hubris)

What I've seen is that as you become more successful, and increasingly over time, you get more people who just constantly start saying "yes" when they really should be saying "no" to your ideas (because, again its not like you've become less naive). This starts become dangerous, and puts you increasingly in a emperors wearing no clothes situation

I really think it becomes harder to have friends who tell you the truth consistently and how it is as one gains more success, or at least externally recognized. Just my two cents

Totally. This seems to be somewhat true across all parts of society. I get nervous when the power proves to sway elections or devastate communities like the ones in Congo. 

Not forgetting this doesn’t bode well for individuals either. Looking at artists like Michael Jackson and others w yes people around them 

It goes on and on

Whenever I see Elon being stupid, I think about how difficult it is to continue to cultivate people around you who stop you from doing or saying completely stupid things, because that it turns out is really hard (for anyone, really) if you want to stay in the public's focus etc
