I’ve been following Russell Brand’s career for years. I used to be a huge fan. I watched him as he eloquently expressed his atheism. I watched him get sober pivot embracing new age spiritualism destroying his comedy career and plummeting all the way down the culty conspiracy pipeline. Nobody should be surprised

What’s going on with him now? Can’t recall what pod I heard with him but it was a few years ago—may have been one with Sam Harris—but I have a strong memory the impression that I gleaned was that he is an arrogant fool, he had semblances of good ideas but no means to have come to the insights on his own

I feel like I’ve literally been watching an abusive person figuring out how to hack our systems by capitalizing on division and tendencies we have to gravitate towards conspiracy theories. Successful abusers inhabit the same skills to manipulate

I hadn't heard him in awhile so I listened to an episode of his podcast the other day....it was hard to listen to. He's just too much, all over, definitely conspiracy nutter. He's busy on his own tangent and not actually interested in someone else's thoughts. It's always just feels like verbal diarrhea
