Question. What differentiates Base from Zora from Optimism? Everyday artists out there want to know. Theyâre getting lost in the L2 sauce. The Medici drop was cool didnât help win favor from many âsmallerâ artists out there. My DMs are full of frustrated talented people who are afraid to say anything out loud

Zora has a perceived, inbuilt culture associated with its platform, thus its network as well. Base and Optimism are simply well oiled protocols, now attempting to cultivate status and culture the same way Zora has. I believe Zora has a chance at becoming the preeminent âartists chainâ for that reason.

I believe so too. Zora is my favorite. I share their manifesto onboard to Zora regularly. Itâs why Iâm stressed. Iâm worried. I wouldnât blame them if they focused on music and content like podcasts and writing. But artists have other needs not being addressed. Free only touches these.

Music is artwork and writing isnât limited to âcontent.â I seriously donât get the subtle condescension and lack of care toward musicians and writers by visual artists in Web3.

I am so sorry for coming off that way. That is not how I feel. I only meant (to me) music and writing want to flourish. The more itâs collected, the more itâs desired. Digital visual art becomes more desirable with scarcity (generally) 1/

@futurefae Iâm an avid reader. I forever work w @blackdave who is a musician. I have as much respect for writers and musicians as any other artist. I only meant to suggest this could maybe work better for them because of distribution. I donât think âfreeâ is the best thing for any artist. Apologies

No worriesâthere are limited edition markets for collectible albums, pieces of literature, poetry, historical works, etc. And there are successful open edition or large supply markets for artwork and art-based collectibles. I donât think itâs that black and white, but I do get where youâre coming from.
