If we suppose that life is a game, which person so far has played it the best?

I'm a fan of the double diamond theory of designing. I think discovery is done, now it's time to define. Might be just one diamond this time...

The UX of novels can be improved. A wall of text is not the best way to convey meaning.

I've got to tone down the ADHD word explosion when talking about Farcaster. It's just so exciting thinking of all the possibilities farcaster enables!

It's fascinating how some apps and sites can feel so comfortable, but a slight change to layout can totally remove that feeling. nitter.it vs twitter is a great example. Nitter just doesn't 'feel' right.

Hit the Merkle v2 API for the first time! Feels very POAP worthy.

Goal for today is to be able to have my farcaster client working well enough to be able to dogfood it. The home feed and posting is sorta working, (but phew I am blowing out the Merkle API...), now if I can see threads then I think I'll be there.

I don't mean to be picking on magic.link. I love the idea of a hosted wallet so non-web3 people can use low risk apps. But without changes to the microcopy and UX flow it ain't gonna happen. Web2 apps often secure $1000's worth of user assets, web3 can have a good UX at that level too. https://i.imgur.com/1bHLmF1.png

Running through user journeys imagining the different approach between my Mum and @vitalik.eth is rather useful. For example Magic.link looks good, but still waaay too full of jargon. My Mum would give up when asked to “Sign a message”.

I love FC because it’s the first social app I’ve seen that actually puts decentralisation first, while still being useable. I remember interviewing Greg and Ned from Synereo and SteemIt respectively (in 2016ish?) and their social platforms, while interesting, were just not decentralised. FC could be the one to do t

Spam/unwanted posts, on the offical FC app could be an issue if the protocol is used as a mirror/source of truth. Maybe a voluntary flag? Metadata referencing different clients as their default. Tricky, this starts to feel like a social media database. Useful, but maybe not the direction wanted.

Keen to hear thoughts about using FC as the source of truth for other social apps. So a post to birdapp, but it’s mirrored on FC with identifying meta data. This then leads more people to FC, and inevitably becomes the default.

I don’t think I’ll officially launch for a while, but I really want to share what I’m doing and see what feedback the purple app has. 12 out of 12 people who I’ve shown a working version too keeps pumping team blue, kinda makes it seem saturated. Centralised services will not be the future.
