Near-term changes to help Farcaster grow Everything below will help make it easier for people who hear about Farcaster to get started as quickly as possible and hopefully stick around. 1. Likely rebranding Warpcast to Farcaster; no final decision and if/when that's made we will have a clear public plan / communication 2. Base is launching a Farcaster feed in Coinbase Wallet to their millions of existing users 3. Improving cross-client and web client UX for Sign in with Farcaster and mini apps through "auth addresses"; for the average user that don't need to know anything about this other than they won't be constantly prompted to open their phone when using mini apps 4. Sign ups for most people will be free 5. Post sign up, helping new users get the most relevant feed based on their interests; we will also help them fund their wallet 6. Better sharing for mini apps — links that render nicely on other social media and in messaging apps, automatic deeplinking into apps 7. Warpcast Wallet on web

I disagree with making sign-ups free. This would lead to an influx of users who are primarily interested in multi-accounting for airdrops and quick gains, rather than genuinely engaging with the platform. Free sign-ups don’t contribute to Farcaster’s sustainable and meaningful growth, and instead, they dilute the quality of the platform. The sign-up fee should serve as an initial filter to prevent access from bots and irrelevant users. In fact, I believe the entry cost should be increased, perhaps ten times what it is now. This would attract serious users who are genuinely interested in the platform, while deterring spammers and bots. Not only would this help Farcaster’s sustainability and positive growth, but it would also enhance the experience for real users.
