Another crucial element of urban gardening is sustainability. Cities are places that consume a lot of resources and produce significant waste, so I’m always looking for ways to make my gardening practices more eco-friendly. Using compost to enrich the soil, harvesting rainwater for irrigation, and growing native plants are just a few ways I work to reduce the environmental impact of my gardening. Native plants are particularly important because they require less water, fewer chemicals, and provide essential habitats for local wildlife, making them perfect for urban environments.
