Let’s talk about remasters Do you prefer them or the original? Controversially, I tend to prefer remasters, especially lately as more modern remasters *aren’t* completely crushed (I’d avoid any remasters from 99-00’s for example) Reason I ask is Spotify makes a lot of algorithmic “right now” playlists and a lot of times, they pull from the OG version which I respect, but there’s quite a few times I wish they’d use the remasters.

It really depends on the project. Like I prefer The Weeknd's original mixtapes over the remixed and remastered Trilogy he dropped in 2012. Sometimes the original has a certain sound and unique flaws that get lost in the remastered versions

Honestly, my preference is the originals / the older albums/versions. They feel more raw and like they have more soul given their imperfections. To me, the remasters often feel sanitized and void of soul. Though, I do not blame artists for pursuing it and doing it as they have mouths to feed. If I see a new remaster track or album, it will remind me of the originals and I’ll go listen to them lol To each his / her own though 🫡
