WTF with all this tariff war? What's the strategy behind all this? This is my thoughts.

1. U.S. national debt hit $36T in 2024, fueled by gov spending and a rising trade deficit ($918B, up 17%). It’s a big concern.

2. Why tariffs? Trump’s team believes they’ll cut imports and boost domestic goods.

3. Americans spend 90%+ of income (vs. 70%-85% in other developed nations), leaving little for savings—spending stays high despite inflation.

4. Tariffs won’t hurt the U.S. much—exports are just 0.56%-1.29% of GDP, while China, Canada, and Mexico rely on the U.S. for 2.78%-23.75%. Trade’s only 24% of U.S. GDP.

Trump’s likely to push tariffs until the trade deficit drops. High exporters to the U.S. could be next. Thoughts?
