Artists are the most active and consistent people in the web3 space. Regardless of sales, engagement and all that crap they show up daily, vibe with others and share their stuff. This place would be so empty without artists, I have so much respect for them.

this is an underrated aspect of artists, often dismissed, but they show up in this on-chain environment every single day

Artists may move platforms but they are the best use case for crypto that we have seen yet and are always curious and there to try something new. I’ve been thinking recently about why I was so excited about crypto for artists. The ability for anyone to be able to earn from their art and connect with people all across the world was not possible in the same way when I got into photography 20 years ago. It’s a huge deal. We can’t forget what a paradigm shift it really is.

Very few actually understand the shift👏 Those who do, cant be nothing but bullish on the technology and innovation. No matter how many sales they get, the market or whatever

I still think that we have a lot of work to do to prove the long term viability of art on-chain. There will be and has to be a shift towards value accrual in the form of proper displays of collected art, archiving, and sharing of collected artwork. We have to move away from mint more and collect more to be relevant. We have to figure out how to make sense of wallets, which are currently visual and organizational nightmares. From an art sense, I also believe that we need to focus on the art more-so than who did what on-chain first. So much work to do. But I’m here for it. I always thought my art collection would take a minimum of 5-10 years to be appreciated and understood. The tools just aren’t here yet.
