Google’s slowly dying in market share… not traffic and revenue.

Yes, we have more options than ever.

The same thing that happened with social networks is happening in search.

Instagram didn’t kill Facebook. And TikTok didn’t kill Instagram.

And smaller social networks like Snap and Pinterest still generate billions in revenue.

ChatGPT is great. But people keep using Google.

Check out Google’s growth in search queries and revenue from ads over time.

Now, with the search query data, Google hasn’t released data for every year, but we took the publicly available data, like their recent announcement of over 5 trillion searches a year, as well as some older released numbers, and then estimated what happened in between based on ad revenue.

Either way, Google is still growing nicely, but not in market share.
