1/ Two years ago, art and blockchain merged unprecedentedly.

STATE OF THE ART by @ThankYouX reimagined blockchain as a medium, not just a tool. This is a short thread on how this one-of-a-kind project blended tech, physical art, and innovation.

2/ STATE OF THE ART featured 4 large-scale paintings (20x20 canvases) broken into 1,600 unique digital tiles. Each NFT tile corresponded to a section of the painting—both digital and physical. Minting was just the first step in this project. 🎨

3/ Upon minting, collectors received randomized tiles. Then, they could trade adjacent tiles on the secondary market to merge adjacent tiles of the painting to create a bigger tile for themselves. 

The ultimate goal? Claim a larger physical canvas piece! 🖼️

4/ This wasn’t just art—it was an experience.

6/ Fun fact: TLx optimized the smart contracts to handle merging and burning in a single transaction, saving collectors gas fees. ⛽
