Enlace, as with our other Craft Nouveau collections, aims to intertwine new and old, to find a harmony between algorithmic art and traditional craft.

TRAME is a collaborative studio and curated gallery to discover and collect limited-edition design and art with digital provenance.

3/ The intermingling of technology and craft in "Enlace" prompts us to think about the way that historical knowledge and technological advancement can join together to propel the evolution of material culture.

4/ Maison L. Drucker, one of the oldest and most prestigious manufacturers of rattan furniture, worked with contemporary artists from Aranda\Lasch to reimagine the iconic Parisian bistro chair.

5/ Before physical work begins, artist + artisan collaborate to explore the particular constraints of chair manufacturing that will guide parameters for an algorithm to generate intricate weave variations.

6/ The uniqueness and variety of the digital artwork serves to engage the hands of artisans with a fresh challenge and purpose as they lend a personal touch to each and every chair they produce.

7/ The manufacturing process requires days of hand work. Traditional knowledge of technique and methodology is indispensable in turning out chairs that adhere to the Maison's high standards. The quality of materials is also key.

8/ The collaborative process between old & new elevates not only the algorithmic outputs, but also the physical chairs by encouraging each form of art—digital and physical—to push the boundaries of their particular design language and sense of purpose.

9/ From initial minting of the digital work with @brightmoments gallery, through production, to delivery of the one-of-a-kind piece, runs a thread that connects contemporary culture to past tradition and vice versa.

10/ The art of weaving—a craft that has been practiced since ancient history—is employed in algorithmic art to bring fresh design perspective to the bistro chair. 

We can just as easily say the reverse: that algorithmic art is applied to weaving to bring new perspective.
