The core is actually activated during pull ups, i won’t deny that. But one important part or another exercise is the type of contraction. We usually have the isometric contraction in that instance while the back and arm muscles go through the concentric and eccentric( which is the actual aim) The reason why the core gets the most activated during lengthened pull up reps is because there is gradual weakness of the arms and back muscles at that stage… So we tend to contract the core more in order to complete our pull up reps The hanging leg lift is a program similar to pull ups(just the hanging part) but will provide us with the isotonic contractions we need for the core training :)
