was at the clinic and met this 10yr old boy, being managed for complications he’d been battling with as a sickle cell patient. needed physical therapy eventually but it got me thinking. why do people still have children together despite knowing what they would suffer IS LOVE ENOUGH TO IGNORE IT? my answer is no but i need to know your thoughts on this https://frame.weponder.io/api/polls/29785

asides not knowing your genotype which is horrible, what other reasons could people have to still decide to go ahead, knowing how troubling it will turn out in the future as a health practitioner,i can only advise against it but i’ve never really understood why people go ahead with it i want to see this from the POV of many others so i deffo need more eyes on this @christin @keccers.eth @degenveteran.eth @ted @laursa.eth @dwr.eth what are your thoughts on this?

my only input is wishing that genetic counseling is more widely available so parents can make an informed decision if they wish to be informed the issue is complex and we shouldn't assume that genetic variants confer less inherent worth of human life

true that. it could be as a result of lack of education in that aspect. especially over here where i am personally, i never thought about it much but i had so many questions, things going through my head, seeing that boy go through so much pain
