Impressions from Miami #1 - Tips

I went out yesterday to an average restaurant. When it was time to pay the bill (via iPad), the tip options seemed off:

3%, 6%, 9%.

I clicked on 9% but paused for a moment. 

Why were these options so low? I was expecting the standard 10/15/20% maybe even 25%

It turns out an 18% tip was already included by default, so this was a second round of tipping. Wtf?

I almost ended up tipping 27%!

How did you find out about the auto-tip that had already been in place

But why put an auto tip system and still add the options for tipping 

Hundreds of people woulda have tipped 27% or more without even knowing😭

Is this common in restaurants cus I’ve only heard about one that did the same but didn’t leave an option to tip again

Because I asked what’s going on 🤷‍♂️
