so like.. hear me out (as a SOL user + holder) what if i was someone who kept a significant portion of my NW in $SOL (im not) and was dealing with an emergency.. the fact that i couldn't do anything due to the network congestion is insane.. wallets not working / tx's double sending... BTC & ETH will always be on top

Quite possibly. Sol has always had network issues. It's getting it's moment in the sun now but it's nowhere near as stable and versatile as emv chains are. The only issue with eth is transaction costs. As eths volume and value go up, so too do the fees. L2 offers significant improvements, but presents other challenges.

Slow but reliable always wins. I cannot imagine not being able to exit a position because of failed txns. Ngmi (but will still go up a ton i'm sure hahaha...eventually🥶)

This makes sense to me, not just for SOL but any crypto network given the potential for high fees If needed perhaps we could build wallets in a way that allows for ownership transfer off-chain. At the point you could sell the right to retrieve the assets in the future vs transfer them in the moment.
