What is the history of lavender? It is widely believed that lavender first appeared in the Mediterranean, the Middle East and India around 2500 years ago . The Egyptians are known to have made perfumes using lavender and when Tutankhamun's tomb was opened, traces of lavender were found and its odour could still be picked up. The main meaning of pink coloured varieties is romantic love. White hydrangea symbolises abundance and purity. Purple coloured hydrangeas are a symbol of wealth. The most common colour of hydrangea is blue. Such flowers express harmonious relationships, loyalty and optimism.
