Marketers need to stop focusing on website traffic. Yes, people will still come to your website to make purchases, but the web is changing. Look at how people made purchases online in the last week. The survey data is only 1000 people, but still, platforms like Instagram and TikTok are growing fast. More than half of the purchases were made by going through 3rd parties. Instead of forcing people to come to your site, meet them where they are. If they are on Instagram, Amazon, or any other platform, be there so they can easily make a purchase. Don’t require them to come directly to you or for them to give you their email address.
