I reject that by nature a team or builder with a live coin is "chasing short term hype in the market" oftentimes this is a line that gets thrown around pretty carelessly, lumping bootstrapped but serious builders in with memecoin scammers or grifters ironically, the same people who say this often talk about "real world usecases," while being dismissive about builders who are actively engaging with the primary DAU in crypto today, people who actively trade ultimately, teams should eventually be comfortable with coins, or should be explicit about what their business model is. no one talks about uniswap as though the protocol isn't serious, or the team hasn't shipped meaningful tech, even though almost every single memecoin is downstream of what erc20 + Uniswap v1 proliferated

launching a coin is mostly seen as a short-term speculation game, and, to be fair, it makes sense to judge it that way when thousands of them die within hours. but it’s not the rule, and not everything fits into that basket there are legit teams building cool stuff, using coins to fund their work, or experimenting with mechanisms we’ve never seen before. i think having the main KPI being the price is what makes people only focusing on the hype

Top paragraph is something I talk about a lot, there’s a reason I repeatedly reference the same coins vs constantly referring to any new coin. I’ve had to learn this, but most coins will die it’s the data we’ve collected!
