Just finished The Boys, and I'm really surprised by how fkn well written it is.

Something about the way it's promoted made it look like trash, so I didn't even consider watching it. but then  @bubalu insisted so i had to give it a chance. 0 regrets... the characters, the action, the dark humour... all 🤌🤌🤌

Out of interest , what about the promotions made you think it was trash ? Too much excessive gore etc

I started as season 1 came out so didnt get any impression except from the show itself

i'm not sure - i don't think it was the gore, but more the fact that it looks (and actually "is") a superhero movie "rip off", so it looked like a cheap copy instead of a really compelling script that used that as a resource

i guess that's very hard to portray if you haven't actually seen it
