1/What are Hanabi? Hanabi means fireworks in Japanese and is a celebration of summer for local communities across Japan! In this same spirit, Based Hanabi is a public goods summer Hackathon for creators and builders driving impact in their respective communities across the Based ecosystem!

2/What’s a Build-and-Give-a-thon? It’s a public goods hackathon connecting project owners with supportive capital. Using Rounds.wtf, minters of the official Based Hanabi NFT can vote for projects to receive grant funding and can also donate to projects directly with Warpcast Pay. All voting and donating can be done in the /hanabi channel.

3/What types of projects are we looking for? Projects that are driving impact in their communities. Projects can drive impact at a local or global level and be anything from an art project to a dapp. Projects can be in the idea/early prototyping phase or already live.

4/So what’s the big deal? As part of @edcon, top projects will have the opportunity to present their work as part of the Edcon Builder Showcase Builder’s Showcase at the United Nations University on 7/26 and Based Hanabi Conference on 7/29, both in Tokyo! Presentations can be done locally or remotely! Presenters will be selected by /hanabi team.

5/How Do I Join? Submit your project by posting a link to the project in a cast in the /hanabi channel with the hashtag, #basedhanabi. Live projects should be deployed on Base. Rounds and Voting will launch on 7/15.
