My biggest question is what’s going on with the cash? There is 100mm USDC sitting in a wallet with 180mm BUIDL shares minted. Where is the rest of the cash? Fiat? Why is the USDC sitting there? Shouldn’t it be deployed? Thoughts good ser?

What would you define as onchain? The ownership record is onchain. What else would you want to see? “Everything” isn’t realistic

I missed the part when you offered to refund? You haven’t delivered anything except deeply negative value.

Meld is a slow rug. They milked Cardano community for millions and just latch on to themes with a slick pitchbook.

I think that’s right. Most liquid funds work similarly. Groups are starting there because theres a lot of on chain cash earning 0 while tether and circle make billions. It’s also very straight forward low risk product so you don’t need big investment or sales teams.

I am. It’s a MMF in a hedge fund wrapper for qualified purchasers only (assets > 5mm). You also can’t compose with it. I get it as a starting place but it has no product market fit right now.

Will be interesting to see what they do next. The first product is not particularly compelling.

Imagine fully customizable portfolios of semi-liquid and illiquid alts automatically managed to a “model” deployed as a smart contract. That’s where we’re going!

I don’t disagree with any of the points in general. However, generalizing such a heterogeneous space is a mistake. Yes, of course, it’s not scalable to spin up many small customized SPVs. There are very large pools of assets like Alts though where you can solve real UX problems w blockchain tech.

Why can’t tokens solve for those? When I think about what is more challenging to solve w tokens I see projects trying to bring unnecessary things onchain.

Big props to Reddit for experimenting with contributor ownership, and I know this is totally the fault of regulation and not Reddit themselves, but this made me sad. This is why we crypto; it's a global economy.

So much misinformation about what tokenization does for private investments. It does NOT democratize them and it does NOT automatically create liquidity. The magic is getting dollars to managers atomically and creating new products.
